Christine, the photos are very sweet – and her personality comes through. Kudos to you and your little subject!

Vintage Hats ~ [Harrisburg, PA – Child Photographer]

I have a gigantic fondness for vintage hats.  Sweet, simple, colorful little vintage hats that while I walk by them in the antique store they scream, “Take me, take me!  I have tons of charm and a story to tell!”  Let’s face it, I’m a sucker for these things and I am fortunate to have two cute little daughters who don’t mind their mommy pleading with them to quick get a nice top or coat on, and follow me to the nearest photographic location so I can test out my new hat.  God love them!  It takes a little bit of coercing but eventually, they succumb to my begging and pleading (and sometimes bribery) and let me play around with their hair as they model my new hat.  Here are a few.  Oh, and by the way… these darling little hats are waiting for you!  After all, that is the reason I buy them!  So that my clients can enjoy them during their photo session if they’d like.  And yes, I even have a classic fedora for the boys out there.  I’ll even attach an oldie but goodie of Matheus modeling it for me several years ago.  So cute!  🙂

‘Twas the Night Before Kindergarten…

Kindergarten time for Sophie!  I’m so proud of my littlest munchkin!

DSC_4507

I’m so excited kindergarten is here,
I know it will be a great year.
I’m a big kid now and I’m on my way,
To board the bus for my very first day.

My teachers are there waiting for me,
Right at the door is where they will be.
I’ll make lots of friends and have some fun,
And before you know it, the day will be done.

Quiet Valley

I took my girls on a road trip yesterday to visit my parents in New Jersey and along the way, we stopped off at Quiet Valley , a lovely historical farm located near Stroudsburg, PA.  I first visited Quiet Valley on a field trip with my second grade class (a long…long time ago 🙂 ), and I was delighted to learn that it is still in existence today and just about celebrating 50 years.  If you’re ever out that way and want to stop for a visit, I strongly recommend it!  This peaceful and serene 19th century Pennsylvania farm is loaded with history, and it’s home to a number of friendly farm animals.  Tour guides portray the family members of the farm as it was in 1850.  It’s fun for the kids and fascinating for those like me who have a love for that era.  The entire farm can be seen in about 2 hours so if you’re headed to or through the Pocono Mountain area, stop in!  It’s a delightful way to spend a few hours and bask in the beauty of a much simpler time.
