Quiet Valley

I took my girls on a road trip yesterday to visit my parents in New Jersey and along the way, we stopped off at Quiet Valley , a lovely historical farm located near Stroudsburg, PA.  I first visited Quiet Valley on a field trip with my second grade class (a long…long time ago 🙂 ), and I was delighted to learn that it is still in existence today and just about celebrating 50 years.  If you’re ever out that way and want to stop for a visit, I strongly recommend it!  This peaceful and serene 19th century Pennsylvania farm is loaded with history, and it’s home to a number of friendly farm animals.  Tour guides portray the family members of the farm as it was in 1850.  It’s fun for the kids and fascinating for those like me who have a love for that era.  The entire farm can be seen in about 2 hours so if you’re headed to or through the Pocono Mountain area, stop in!  It’s a delightful way to spend a few hours and bask in the beauty of a much simpler time.
